This Deed made this fourth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine Between James Belote and Elizabeth his wife of the County of Accomack State of Virginia of the one part and Richard D. Bayly of the same place of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to them in hand paid by the said Richard D. Bayly at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do and each of them doth grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said Richard D. Bayly and his heirs and assigns forever all the right title and interest which they have or either of them hath in or unto any parcel or part of a certain tract of Land which the said Richard D. Bayly purchased of a certain John Boisnard by deed bearing date the 20th day of September 1808 and of Record in the clerks office of the District Court of Accomack the bounds of the said land being therein fully described and also one fourth undivided part of that tract of Land near the new church and adjoining the lands of Geo Bunting whereof John Kelly brother of the said Elizabeth wife of said James died seized & possessed and which said one undivided fourth part of said tract (said tract being supposed to contain Twelve & one half acres be the same more or less) descended by the death of said John Kelly to said James Belote and Elizabeth his wife in right of said wife together with all the rights priviledgs and appurtenances to the said Land belonging and every part and parcel thereof to his the said Richard D. Bayly and his heirs and assigns forever. To have and to hold the said above described lands together with all the rights priviledges and appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Richard D. Bayly and his heirs & assigns forever to and for them only proper use benefit and behoof and to and for not other use intent or purpose whatsoever. And the said James Belote and Elizabeth his wife do covenant that they have a good and clear estate in fee simple to the aforesaid described land which descended to them by the death of the aforesaid John Kelly with the rights priviledges and appurtenances thereunto belonging and that they will for themselves and each of them their and each of their Executors and Administrators warrant and defend the same with its appurtenances to him the said Richard D. Bayly and his heirs and assigns forever free from the claim of them or either of them their or either of their and of all and every person or persons whatsoever.
It testamony whereof the said James Belote and Elizabeth his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals this day and year first aforesaid

At a Superior Court of Laws held for Accomack County May the 4th 1809 This Deed from James Belote and Elizabeth to Richard D. Bayly was acknowledged by the said James and Elizabeth as their act and deed and ordered to be recorded The said Elizabeth being first privily examined apart from he said husband as the law directs and Volentarily consenting thereto
