Deed from Scarburgh Bloxom to Thomas Fletcher 24 October 1796 - Transcribed by Gail M. Walczyk

This Indenture made this 26th Day of October, between Scarburgh Bloxom of Accomack County of the One Part and Thomas Fletcher of the sa,e place of the other part Witnesseth that the aforesaid Scarburgh Bloxom for and in Consideration of the sum of Forty Shilling per acre at the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby granted that the said Sacrburgh Bloxom doth hereby give grant bargain and Sell unto the aforesaid Thomas Fletcher his heirs Executors and adminstrators and assigns for Ever a certain tract and Parcil of land lying and beign in Accomack County beign the land that the afresaid Scarburgh Bloxom Bought of his father Simson Bloxom begining at the branch at a Gulley between Robert Smalls land that he bought of Shadrack Fisher and thence along that line to Glasby Lands and along that line to Shepherd Stephen Bloxoms line and thence along that Line to the line of the heirs of Robert Abbott and along that line to the samuel Sandrews and thence along the aforesaid line to the branch leading to Muddy Creek and Down the said Branch to the said Gulley at the begining to Conclude one hundred and fifty four acres with all and Singular the appertanances thereunto Belonging or in any wise appertaining To have and to hold the aforesaid granted & bargained premises unto the aforesaid Thomas Fletcher his heirs Executors administratiors and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of said Thomas Fletcher his heirs and assigns forever and to or for no other use whatsoever and the aforesaid Scarburgh Bloxom for himself his heirs Executors and administrators or assigns doth hereby for the Better ensueing onsetting the aforesaid Premises to the aforesaid Thomas Fletcher his heirs and assigns forever dot covenant and grant and agree to and with the aforesaid Thomas Fletcher his hiers and assigns forever and that the aforesaid Scarburgh Bloxom at and before the ensealing and Delivery of this Receipt presents is and stands seized of the above bargained Premises in a good and in defeasable estate of inheritance in fee simple and the said and the said Scarburgh Bloxom hath a good Right and full power under lawfull authority to let & convey the same unto the said Thomas Fletcher his heirs and assigns and that the same is free and clear of all imcumberance whatever & that the said Scarburgh Bloxom doth warrant Defend the same forever a gainst the right & title of amy person or persons whatever the aforesaid land unto the said Thomas Fletcher his heirs Executors, administrators forever In witness Whereof the said Scarburgh Bloxom have hereunto set my hand and affixed his Seal in the day and date above mentioned
