Deed from Thomas Carlisle, wife Susanna and Phamey Bacon to Daniel Rowley - 26 March 1801 - Transcribed by Gail M. Walczyk

This Indenture made this twenty Sixth day of March one thousand eight hundred and one between Thomas Carlisle and Susanna his wife late Susanna Polk and Phamey Bacon all of Sussix in the State of Delaware of the one part and Daniel Rowley of Accomack County in the State of Virginia of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Thomas Carlisle and Susanna his wife late Susanna Polk and Phamey Bacon for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and eighty five pounds current money of Virginia to the said Thomas Carlisle and Susanna his wife late Susannah Polk Phamey Bacon in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have given granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Daniel Rowley his heirs Executors Administrators and assigns forever all that part of a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Accomack in the State of Virginia near the head of a branch of Swansegut creek and is bounded to the eastward with John Smiths land northerly by the line dividing Maryland from Virginia, Westerly by the lands of Daniel Smiths decest, and to the southward by the lands of Daniel Walker heirs the lands and premises aforesaid being part of a tract of land formerly the right tittle and property of a certain Andrew Andress deceast. and since his death decended unto Sarah his only daughter and heir at law the remainder of the said Tract of land lying in the State of Maryland and not to be hereby conveyed together with all priviledges members and all and every the improvements and appurtenances to the same in any sort way or manner belonging or appertaining containing by estimation one hundred and ninety acres of land be the same more or less. To have and to hold the said parcel of land so as aforesaid unto him the said Daniel Rowley and to his heirs and assigns for ever and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever and to the only use benefit and behoof of him the said Daniel Rowley and his heirs and assigns for ever and the said Thomas Carlisle and Susanna his wife late Susanna Polk and Phamey Bacon for themselves their heirs Executors and Administrators doth further covenant grant and agree to and with him the said Daniel Rowley his heirs Executors and Administrators that the and each of their heirs Executors and Administrators warrant and defend the aforesaid lands and premises against themselves and against their heirs Executors Administrators and against all other person or persons whatsoever now claiming or ever hereafter shall claim by from or under any of them or any other person whatsoever as sure estate of Inheritance in fee simple unto him the said Daniel Rowley and to his heirs and assigns forever. In Testimony hereof we the said Thomas Carlisle and Susanna his wife late Susanna Polk and Phamey Bacon to these our hands and Seals interchangeabley have set and affixed the day and year first above written
