Deed from Jonathan Hunn & Patience his wife Samuel Howell & Elizabeth his wife, Eyre Mifflin & Rebecca Mifflin to Charles Stockley - 5 November 1800 Transcribed by Gail M. Walczyk

This Indenture made this fifth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred, between Jonathan Hunn & Patience his wife, Samuel Howell & Elizabeth his wife, Eyre Mifflin & Rebecca Mifflin of the county of Kent in the State of Delaware of the one part & Charles Stockly of the County of Accomack in the State of Virginia of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Jonathan Hunn the said Jonathan Hunn & Patience his wife Samuel Howell & Elizabeth his wife, Eyre Mifflin & Rebecca Mifflin saving & reserving to themselves & to the heirs of Daniel Mifflin late decd of the county of Accomack aforesaid forever, the whole of Graveyards at the Mansion Plantation where the said Daniel Mifflin resided in his life & to the time of his death, in which said grave yards the said Daniel Mifflin, his ancestors, Children and relatives are interred with free access thereto for themselves & the heirs of the said Daniel Mifflin decd forever Have for and in consideration of the sum of Eleven thousand two hundred dollars lawful money of the United States of America by th said Charles Stockly to the said Jonathan Hunn & Patience his wife, Samuel Howell & Elizabeth his wife, Eyre Mifflin & Rebecca Mifflin in hand paid & secured to be paid at and before the Sealing and delivery of these presents, Granted bargained & Sold & by these presents do grant bargain and sell to the said Charles Stockly all the residue & remainder of the Plantation aforesaid, usually called the Mansion Plantation being the late residence of the said Daniel Mifflin deceased with the appurtenances situate, lying and being in the county of Accomack aforesd in the said State of Virginia and adjoining the lands of Doctr Fenwick Fisher the Virginia line, the lands of William Chapman decd Gingoteague Bay & Swan Gut containing by a late survey eleven hundred and thirteen acres of land, be the same more or less To have & to hold the above granted bargained and sold premises with the appurtenances to the said Charles Stockly his heirs & assigns for to the only proper use benefit & behoof of the said Charles Stockly his heirs & assigns forever. And it is hereby further testified that the said Jonathan Hunn & Patience his wife, Samuel Howell & Elizabeth his wife, Eyre Mifflin and Rebecca Mifflin do for themselves their in their own rights respectively are seized of a good & indefeasable estate in their demesne as of fee of & in four parts of the above granted bargain & sold premises with the appurtenances into five parts to be divided at & before the ensealing & delivery of these presents & will forever warrant and defend the said Charles Stockly his heirs & assigns in the quiet & peaceable possession of the same against all persons what so ever legally claiming the same. And that as to the other remaining one fifth part of the said granted bargained & sold premises with the appurtenances they the said Jonathan Hunn, Samuel Howell, Eyre Mifflin & Rebecca Mifflin do for themselves their heirs, executors Administrators jointly & severally by these presents covenant grant & agree to and with the said Charles Stockly his heirs & assigns that Anne Hunn the Grandaughter & devisee of the said Daniel Mifflin decd so soon as she shall arrive at lawful age, shall well & truly upon reasonable demand for that purpose to be made grant, release, & confirm unto the said Charles Stockly his heirs & assigns at the proper Costs & charges of the of the said Charles Stockly his heirs or assigns, all her right tittle & interest in the same, in such manner & form as shall by the said Charles Stockly his heirs or assigns or by his or his Their Council [-----] in the law be advised devised or required or in case the said Anne Hunn shall not arrive at lawful age then & in that case they the said Jonathan Hunn Samuel Howell, Eyre Mifflin and Rebecca procure & cause whose who may be rightfully entitled to the said remaining one fifth part of the said granted bargained & sold premises with the appurtenances, so soon as by law the same may be done upon like reasonable demand to grant, release, & confirm to the said Charles Stockly his heirs & assigns at his or their proper Costs & charges & in manner and form as aforesaid, the said remaining one fifth part of the said granted bargained & sold premises with the appurtenances & all their right title & interest in the same and that in the meantime they the said Jonathan Hunn, Samuel Howell, Erye Mifflin & Rebecca Mifflin [next five lines crossed out - unreadable] will defend the said Charles Stockly his heirs & assigns in the Peaceable & quiet possession of the said remaining one fifth part of the sd granted bargained & sold premises with the appurtenances & in the receipt of the issues & profits of the same to his & their own proper use & uses against all persons whatsoever legally claiming the same.
