This Deed made this Twenty seventh day of February Anno Domini, one
thousand eight hundred and seven, between John Parker and Nancy his
wife of Northampton County in the State of Virginia of the one part and
George P. Barnes of Accomack County in the state aforesaid of the other
part Witnesseth that the said John Parker and Nancy his wife for and in
consideration of the sum of nine hundred and thirty one pounds current
money of Virginia in specie to them in hand paid by the said George P.
Barnes, thier receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hat granted
bargained and sold and do by these presents give grant bargain sell and
confirm unto the said George P. Barnes one hundred and twenty acres of
land more or less lying and being in the county of Accomack and bounded
as follows to wit, on the N.E. By the lands of George P. Bagwell on the
S.E. by Metompkin Bay on the S.W. by Parkers Creek and on the N.W. by
the lands of Doctor Thompson Holmes, likewise one undivided third part
of Forty two Acres of Woodland more or less, bounded by the lands of
William Finney on the N.W. and on the N.E. by the lands of John Hickman
on the S.E. by the Lands of Isaac Hickman and on the S.W. by the lands
of George P. Bagwell. To have and to hold the said two tract of land
containing one hundred and thirty four Acres more or less with the
appurtenances thereunto belonging to him the said George P. Barnes his
heirs and assignes for ever, to and for their use and benefit and for
no other whatever. And the said John Parker and Nancy his wife doth
covenant that they have a good and clear estate in fee simple to the
said one hundred and thirty four Acres of land more or less with the
appurtenances aforesaid, and that they will for themselves their heirs
executors and Administrators warrant and defend the same lands and its
appurtenances to the said George P. Barnes his heirs and assigns for
ever to and for their use and benefit and for no other use intent or
purpose whatever forever from the claim and demand which can or may be
set up by any person or persons whatever, to the said two tract of Land
containing one hundred and thirty four Acres more or less and its
appurtenances or any part thereof. In witness whereof the parties to
these presents have set their hands and affixed their seals the day and
year first above written

The
Commonwealth of Virginia to John Burton William Parramore Junr. and
John Custis gentlemen justices of Accomack County Greetings: Whereas
John Parker and Nancy his wife of Northampton County have by their
certain deed of bargain and sale bearing dat the 27th day of February
in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and seven sold and
conveyed unto George P. Barnes of Accomack County one hundred and
twenty Acres of land be the same more or less with the appurtenances
lying and being in the County of Accomack and bounded to wit: on the
north East by the lands of George P. Bagwell on the South East by
Metompkin Bay on the South West by Parkers Creek and on the North West
by the lands of Doctr Thompson Holmes, likewise one undivided third
part of forty two Acres of Woodland more or less bounded by the lands
of William Finney on the North West and on the N.E. by the lands of
John Hickman on the S.E. by the lands of Isaac Hickman and on the S.W.
by the lands of George P. Bagwell with the appurtenances and whereas
the said Nancy cannot conveniently travel to our District court, holden
at Accomack Courthouse to make acknowledgement of the said deed;
Therefore we do give you or any two or more of you power to receive the
acknowledgment which the said Nancy shall be willing to make before you
of the conveyance aforesaid, contained in said deed, which is hereto
annexed and we do therefore command you, that you do personally go to
the said Nancy and examine her privily and apart from her said Husband
John Parker whether she doth the same freely and voluntarily, without
his persuasion or threats, and whether she be willing that the same
should be recorded in our said district Court, and receive her
acknowledgment of the same and when you have examined and recieved her
acknowledgment as aforesaid, that you distinctly and openly certify to
us thereof in our said Court under your seals, sending then there the
said deed and this writ. Witness Richard D. Bayly clerk of our said
Court at his office the 2nd day of March 1807 in the 31st year of the

By
virtue of this commission to us directed we the subscribers have
privily examined Nancy Parker the wife of the within named John Parker
in manner and form as the said commission requires and have recieved
her acknowledgment of the deed hereunto annexed, which said deed she
acknowledged freely and voluntarily without the persuasion or threats
of the said John Parker her husband; and that she was willing the same
should be recorded in the District Court directed by Law to be holden
at Accomack Courthouse, which we do certify to the said Court under our
hands and seals this second day of March one thousand eight hundred
& seven.

This
Deed from John Parker and Nancy his wife to George P. Barnes was proved
by the oaths of William Parramore Junr. Richard D. Bayly and Sebastian
Cropper witnesses thereto, and with the commission annexed and
certificate of the execution thereof is ordered to be recorded.
