This Deed made the twenty day of May in the year of our Lard one thousand Seven hundred and Ninty Eight between Samuel Trader and Patience his wife of the County of Accomack and parish of St George of the one part and John Taylor of the same place of the other part Witnesseth that the said Samuel Trader and Patience his wife in consideration of one hundred and Ninety two Pounds current money to the said Samuel Trader in hand paid by the said John Taylor before the execution hereof the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have given granted bargained and sold, aliened released and confirmed and by these presents as give grant bargain, and sell, alien, release, and confirm, unto the said John Taylor his heirs and assigns forever a Certain Tenement and parcell of land situate, lying and being in the parish and County aforesaid, on a prong of Pungoteague called Taylors Cree, bounded Easterly by the said Taylors Creek, Southerly by the lands of said John Taylor, Westerly & Northerly by the lands of Thomas Parker and containing forty eight Acres be the same more or less with all rights priviledges and appurtenances thereunto belonging To Have and to Hold the said hereby granted premises with their appurtenances as above bounded and Described unto him the said John Taylor his heirs and assigns forever To the only purpose use and behoof of them the said John Taylor his heirs and assigns forever, and to or for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever. and that he the said Samuel Trader his heirs and assigns forever the hereby granted premises with the appurtenances unto the said John Taylor his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful Claim and demand of all and every person whatsoever claiming or to lay Claim unto the premises or any part thereof Shall and will warrent and forever defend by these presents. In Testimony whereof the said parties hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and Year first above written

At a Court held for Accomack County October 29th 1798 This deed from Samuel Trader and Patience his wife to John Taylor was acknowledged by the said Samuel Trader & Patience as their act and deed the said Patience being first Privily examined as the law directs did voluntarily consent thereto and ordered to be recorded
