Indenture this third day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred
and ninety Seven Between Mones Bishop of the County of Accomack and State of Virginia
of the one part and Esther Bishop Mary Bloxom and Rachel Bonewell daughters of the
aforesaid Mons Bishop each of the same County and State of the other part Witnesseth
that the aforesaid Mons Bishop for and in consideration of the natural love and affection
which he the aforesaid Mons Bishop bears for & towards his aforesd three daughters,
Esther, Mary & Rachel as well as in concideration of certain filial duties & support
which the afsd Esther Mary & Rachel have Jointly & severally engaged to [-----] &
perform to & for their Father aforesaid and to which they have bound themselves by
a Bond bearing date with these presents, have given grant bargain 7 sold & by these
presents do give grant bargain and Sell unto the aforesd Esther Bishop, Mary Bloxom
& Rachel Bonewell and their heirs forever Six acres of Land whereon Stands the sd
Mons Bishops dwelling house and contegous thereto to be laid off as follows By a
line running parrallel with his house wherein he dwells from the line which divides
his land from the lands of William Bishop decd to a young locust tree standing on
the Eastward side of his afsd dwelling house & continuing southerly that line until
it extends to the distance of three acres thence running at right Angles Westerly
the distance of two acres thence Northerly with a line parrallel to the first line
to the line which divides him from the afsd Lands of William Bishop decd & from thence
to the beginning which will contain Six Acres of land with the appurtenances and
advantages on the Same.
To have and to hold the afsd six acres of Land as
above described with all & singularly the advantages and appurtenances thereunto
belonging unto the same in any wise or Sort appertaining unto the aforesaid Ester
Bishop Mary Bloxom & Rqchel Bonewell and their heirs forever & the only proper use
and behoof of the afsd Esther Bishop Mary Bloxom & Rachel Bonewell & their heirs
forever under the following limitation, & condition, to Say that the afsd Mons Bishop
reserving & continues a full priviledge in & unto the premises for himself to reside
& live on during his natural life as his house after which happening whole Estate
in the premises to be & remain unto the afsd Esther Mary & Rachel & their heirs forever..
In testimony whereof the afsd Mons Bishop hath hereunto put his hand & Seals the
