Indenture made this third day of April In the Year of Lord one thousand Seven hundred
and Ninety Seven Between Mons Bishop of the County of Accomack & State of Virginia
of the One part & Jacob Bishop Son of the aforesaid Mons of the same place of the
other part Witnesseth that the afsd aforesaid Mons for and in consideration of the
natural love & affection, which he the aforesaid Mons bears & entertains for his
aforesaid Son Jacob as will as for the further consideration of the Sum of five Shillings
Sterling money of Great Britian to him in hand paid by the aforesaid Jacob at & before
the ensealing and delivery hereof the Receipt whereof is by these presents acknowledg'd
have given granted bargaind, & Sold and by these Presents do give grant bargain and
Sell unto the aforesaid Jacob Bishop his heirs and assigns forever all and every
part & parcel of the Lands & Plantation where I own & possess where on I now live
except the Lands Intend to give to my son Southy Bishop & unto my three daughters
Mary, Rachel & Esther in two Deeds of Indenture bearing date with these presents.
Also the Room at the end of my Dwelling house, on the North Side thereof & as well
a loged house Standing to the Northward of my dwelling house afsd each being built
by the afsd Jacob to him & his heirs forever To have & to hold the afsd Lands house
& premisses with every appurtenances & advantage unto the same belonging unto the
afsd Jacob Bishop his heirs & Assigns forever, unto the only proper use benefit &
Behoof of the afsd. Jacob Bishop his heirs & assigns & to no other use or purpose
whatever Provided always & it is the true intent & Meaning of these Presents that
the aforesaid Mons Bishop enjoy & possess the premisses & every part thereof during
his natural life & after be the entire right of the afsd Jacob Bishop his heirs &
Assigns. In testimony whereof the afsd. Mons Bishop hath hereunto set his hands &
Seal the day & year above written
