Deed from Branson Dalby and his wife Rachel to William Boggs - Transcribed by Gail M. Walczyk

This Indenture made this January 10th day January Anno Domini 1797 Between Branson Dalby & Rachel his wife of the County of Accomack & State of Virginia of the one part and William Boggs of the County of Somerset and State of Maryland of the other part witnesseth that the said Branson Dalby & Rachel his Wife for and in Consideration of the Sum of five Pounds Currant money of Virginia to them in hand paid together with the Said William Boggs Quitering unto all claim to the other part of Said Land have granted Bargained and Sold and by these Presents do Grant Bargain and Sell unto the Said William Boggs his heirs and assigns forever one tract or Parcel of Land Containing by Estimation Thirty Eight Acres be the Same more or less the Said Land being parts of the Tract lately Held be Robert Boggs & by him Voluntarily Wm Boggs the son of his Brother Mc Kemmy & Rachel Dalby daughter of His Brother William which they have agreed to divide between them in manner following Viz. the line of division at the waters Edge opposite the Bars that heads to the Landing and Proceeding along the path till it Comes to the yard which Divided Equally distance between the Dwelling house & Kitchen till it Comes opposite a Cherry Walk or Row of Cherry trees proceed in the same direction to a Gut at the back if the Orchard thence to the head of Said Gut to the new ditch & northerly the Same Course as the ditch to the land of the late Benjamin Phillips which is the northern Bounder and that of Thomas Underhill & a Gut the Eastern Bounder so that the Land of William Boggs Contains the Kitchen Orchard & Everything Including in the right hand and To have and to the Said Thirty Eight Acres of Land and all & Singular appurtenances thereunto belonging to him the Said William Boggs his Heirs & assigns forever & the Sd Branson and Dalby against themselves their heirs Execs and Admires will warrant & for Ever Defend In testimony whereof they have set their hands & Seals the day above Written
