Indenture made this Sixteenth day of May in the Year of our Lord one
thousand Seven hundred and ninety three Between Robert Pitt and
Catharine his wife of the county of Accomack in the State of Virginia
of the one part and James Selby of the County of Worcester in the State
of Maryland of the other part Witnesseth that the said Robert Pitt and
Cathering his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred
pounds current money of Virginia to them the said Robert Pitt and
Catharine his wife in hand paid by the said James Selby the Receipt
whereof the said Robert Pitt and Catharine do hereby acknowledge and
wholly discharge the said James Selby [-----] Have granted bargained
aliened. sold, released and confirmed and by these presents do hereby
grant bargain alien, sell release and confirm unto the said James Selby
his heirs and assigns for ever a certain tract or parcel of Land lying
and being in the County of Accomack and bounded on the north by Pitts'
Creek, on the West and Southwest by the Lands of Walter Bayne and on
the East by the Lands that that the said James Selby purchased of
Lisney Gootee containing by estimation one hundred and Twenty five
acres more of less it being the tract of Land which formerly belonged
to Dennis Blake and conveyed from the said Dennis Blake by a Deed of
conveyance to Robert Pitt the Father of the said Robert Pitt To have
and to hold the said granted premises together with all and singular
the appurtenances therunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto
him the said James Selby his heirs and assigns for ever to the only
proper use benefir and behoof of him the said James Selby his heirs
assigns for ever and to and for no other use intent or purpose
whatsoever. And the said Robert Pitt and Catharine for themselves their
Heirs Executors and Administrators do covenant and agree to and with
the said James Selby his heirs Executors Administrators & assigns
against the Claim or Claims of all persons claiming from by or under
them or either of them the said Robert Pitt and Catharine their heirs
and Assigns, will warrant, and for ever defend In Testimony whereof the
parties have hereunto set their hands and affixed their Seals the day
and Year above written
