Indenture made this 7th day of October Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and
ninety nine between Dennis Hickman and his wife Bridget of Accomack and State of
Virginia of the one part and Thomas Hickman of the same place Witnesseth that the
said Dennis Hickman and Bridget his wife for and in consideration of the sum of fifty
five pounds current money of Virginia in Specie to them in hand paid by the sd Thomas
Hickman at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt is
hereof acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and do by these presents give
grant bargain and sell and confirm unto the sd Thomas Hickman his heirs and assigns
hereto eighteen acres & half of land be the same more or less and being in Accomack
Parish bounded by the lands of Robert Russel on the S. E. side on the N. E. side
by the lands of Thomas Right and on the S. W. side by the lands of Roger Miles being
the whole that fell to him by the death of his Father. To have and to hold the said
eighteen & 1/2 Acres of land be the same more of less together with the improvements
thereon, & all priviledges and appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Thomas
Hickman his heirs and assigns forever to the only proper use intent or purpose whatever
and the sd. Dennis Hickman and his wife Bridget doth hereby for himself his heirs
Executors & Administrators convenant and agree to and with the said Thomas Hickman
his heirs and assigns forever that he or they the before mentioned eighteen 1/2 acres
of land with the appurtenancess unto the said Thomas Hickman his heirs & assigns
forever against the lawful claim title or Interest of all persons claiming from by
or under him or any other person or persons and will the said Dennis Hickman warrant
and forever defend by these presents. In Testimony whereof these parties to these
presents have here unto set their hand and fixed their Seals the day and year first
above written

At a District Court held at Accomack Courthouse October
the 19th 1799. This Deed from Dennis Hickman and Bridget his wife to Thomas Hickman
was acknowledged by the said Dennis and Bridget as their act and Deed, the said Bridget
being first examined privily and apart from her said Husband and voluntarily consenting
thereto and ordered to be recorded
