This Indenture
made the xth Day of July Anno Dom, MCCLXVI I Between Mark Evans and Ann Mary his wife of Accomack County of the one Part and James Vessell of the Other Other part Witnesseth That the said Mark Evans and Ann Mary his Wife for and in Consideration of One Pound and Ten Shillings Current Money of Virginia them paid by James Vessell before Sealing and Delivery hereof the Receipt Whereas it hereby Acknowledge have granted Bargained & sold by these Presents do give grant Bargain and Sell to the said James Vessells his Heirs & Assigns for Ever a Tract or Parcel of Land & Marsh with the Appurtenances Lying being upon Little Back Creek it being the Land & Marsh Devised to the said Mark Evans by his father Mark Evans Deceased te Same Containing Fourteen Acres of Land & Marsh To Have and to Hold all the said Bargained Premisses with the Appurtenances to the said James Vessell his Heirs & Assigns forever the use of the James Vessells and his Heirs to Wit That the said James Vessells and his Heirs and Assigns forever and under his Special Trust & Confidence Nevertheless to Wit that the said James Vessells and his Heirs Forever Shall forever hereafter Stand Seized of all the Bargained Premisses with the Appurtenances and the said Mark Evans for his part his Heirs Executors Administrators doth hereby Covenant with the said James Vessells his Heirs and Assigns that Are Immediately by or before the Sealing & Delivery hereof he is seized fo the aforesaid Fourteen Acres of Land & Marsh with the Appurtenances in a good & in a Peacible Estate of Inheritance in Fee Simple and that he hath goo Right and full Power to grant bargain and Sell the same to the said James Vessills and his Heirs and Assigns in manner and form Aforesaid and that the said Fourteen Acres of Land and Marsh with the Appurtenances are foreof all Incumbrances whatsoever other then the Quit rents to become due by Means thereof to Our Lord the King his Heirs & Successors and the said Mark Evans doth hereby for his part his Heirs Executors Administrators Covenant with the said James Vessells His Heirs and Assigns that he will forever hereafter Warrent & Defend the said Fourteen Acres of Land & Marsh with the Appurtenances tp the said James Vessells his Heirs and assigns forever against all Persons Claiming any Title whatsoever and that they said Mark Evans his Heirs forever will forever hereafter when he or they Shall be Required by the said James Vessels his Heirs or Assigns at the Cost of the Person Required the same make Deed Execute Every such act Deed or Devised in the Law for the better and Further Assuring to the said James Vessells his Heirs and Assigns forever the said Fourteen Acres of Land and Marsh with the Appurtenances as the said James Vessels his Heirs or Assigns his or they Counsel in the Law Learned Shall Advise Or Require Intestamony Whereof I have hereunto fixed my Hand & Seal The Day and Year first above WrittenMark Evans

At a Court held for Accomack County July 28th 1767 Mark Evans and Mary Ann his Wife Presented and Acknowledged the within Indenture as their Act & Deed to James Vessells and Admitted to Record. The said Mary Ann being first Privately Examined as the Law Directs & Voluntarily Consented Thereto.
