This Indenture made the twenty fifth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred and and Ninety Eight Between John West (son of Jonathan Jr.) of the county of Accomack and state of Virginia of the one part and John Crocket of the same place of the other part Witnesseth that the said John West for and in consideration of the sum of three Hundred Dollars Specie to him in hand paid by the said John Crocket before the execution hereof the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained Sold Aliened released and confirmed and by these presents do give grant bargain sell Alien release and confirm unto the said John his heirs and assigns forever one hundred Acres of Land Lying and being on the Tangeers Island in the county aforesaid and Parish of St. George with all rights Priviledges and appurtenances thereunto belonging To have and to hold the said hereby granted premises with those appurtenances so as above Discribed unto him the said John Crocket his heirs and assigns forever the only proper useds and behoof of him the said John his heirs and assigns forever and to or for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever and he the said John West for himself his heirs and assigns forever doth hereby covenant and promis to and with the said John Crocket his heirs and assigns forever against the Lawful Claim and Demand of all and Every person or persons whatsoever claiming or hereafter to lay claim unto the premises or any part thereof shall and will warrent and forever Defend by these presence In testimony whereof the said John hath hereunto set his hands and affixed his seal the day and Year Above Written
