William T. Rodgers was the son of Zorobabel Rodgers, Jr., and Mary (Polly) Tizeker. After his father died, William was considered an orphan by the standards of the day even though his mother was still living. As such, the property he inherited was administered by a guardian, in his case, his mother, until he came of age.
