Francis Boggs son of Francis Boggs and Ann, his wife, was born in Accomack Co., VA, circa 1732. Francis died before 28 December 1812 (Miles 76).
He married Ruth Parker circa 1758 in Accomack Co., VA. Ruth was born in Accomack Co., VA, circa 1740. Ruth was the daughter of William Parker and Leah Taylor. Ruth died before 28 August 1815 (Miles 77). In William Parker's will on 17 August 1781 in Accomack Co., VA, Ruth was named as an heir. It was probated 30 March 1784 (Nottingham 342). NOTE: SEE HOUSEHOULD 3 for will.
The Procession of 1795, as it originally reads: "Lines between Francis Boggs & Wm Crowson. Lines between Francis Boggs & John Boggs. Lines between Francis Boggs & Anne Holden's heirs" (Walczyk). Francis witnessed this procession.
Ruth made a will on 12 August 1815 in Accomack Co., VA. It was probated 28 August 1815 (Miles 77). An abstract of her will reads: "12 August 1815-28 August 1815 Son Francis Boggs Extr. To granddaughter Ann Boggs Taylor & granddaughter Ruth Parker Taylor & grandson Joseph Boggs Taylor my Negro girl Milly. To granddaughter Ruth Parker Taylor & grandson Joseph Boggs Taylor 1/3 of the money that may arise from Francis Boggs' dec'd estate since his death for the use of schooling. Witt: William H. Custis & Rachel Moore. Probate Arthur Turlington & Micthell Chandler. An abstract of an order to audit her estate reads: "Francis Boggs Extr. Appraisers: Thomas L. Bayly, John Finney & Levin L. Joynes. Negroes Hannah & Isaac. Cash received of Arthur Boggs' estate. Auditors John Finney & Levin L Joynes. "
Francis made a will on 9 September 1811 in Accomack Co., VA. It was probated 30 May 1813 (Miles 76). An abstract of his Will reads:
Wife Ruth Boggs & son Francis Extr. To wife Ruth Boggs my land whereon I now live with my marsh which I hold in partnership with my brother John Boggs & all my personal estate & at her death to son Francis Boggs. To son Francis..... If Daughter Comfort should be a widow, then she should have a home with my son Francis. To daughter Comfort my Negro boy George provided she does not move him out of Accomack County & at her death to daughters Ruth & Esther, but if she tries to move him out of Accomack County, then he is to go immediately to Ruth & Esther. To grandson Joseph Boggs Taylor... To daughter Ruth Phillips ... To daughter Esther Taylor the use of my Negro woman Nell, girl Hannah & my man Isaac, but if she should attempt to sell them, then to my other children. Remainder to my daughters Comfort Smith, Ruth Phillips & Esther Tylor. Witt: john Finney & William H. Custis. Probate: Partly proved by William H. Custis & fully proved by John Finney with George Scarburgh & John Arlington securities.

1 i. Ruth Boggs was born in Accomack Co., VA, on 22 October 1759. She married Benjamin circa 1778 in Accomack Co., VA. Benjamin was born in Accomack Co., VA circa 1757. Benjamin was the son of Benjamin Phillips and Susanna Fisher. Circa 1780 Benjamin and Ruth had Joseph Boggs. In Francis Boggs, her father's will on 9 September 1811 in Accomack Co., VA, Ruth was named as an heir. It was probated 30 May 1813. NOTE: SEE HOUSEHOLDS 2 & 6. 2 ii. Comfort Boggs was born circa 1765. Circa 1783 she married Levin Smith (Boggs). In Francis Boggs' will on 9 September 1811 in Accomack Co., VA, Comfort was named as an heir. It was probated 30 May 1813 (Miles). 3 iii. Francis Boggs was born in Accomack Co., VA, circa 1772. Francis died before 29 September 1823 (Will Book 1823-1824). He married twice. He married Agnes Crowson on 4 March 1802 in Accomack Co., VA (Turman 34). Agnes was born in Accomack Co., VA, circa 1777. Agnes was the daughter of William Crowson and Bridget Parker. NOTE: SEE HOUSEHOLD 5. Agnes died before 20 June 1811. On this date Francis Boggs married Elizabeth Underhill (Turman 34).In his father Francis Boggs' will, Francis was named by him to handle his estate on 9 September 1811 in Accomack Co., VA.
Francis was named by his mother Ruth to handle her estate on 12 August 1815 in Accomack Co., VA. The will was probated 28 August 1815 (Miles 77).
Francis made a will on 1 March 1820 in Accomack Co., VA. It was probated 29 September 1823 (Will Book 1823-1824). An abstract reads:
4 iv. Esther Boggs was born in Accomack Co., VA, circa 1784. She married James Taylor about 13 February 1802 in Accomack Co., VA (Turman 200). James was born in Accomack Co., VA, circa 1776. James died before 20 July 1813 (Will Book 1812-1814). James made a will on 9 June 1813 in Accomack Co., VA. It was probated 20 July 1813 (Will Book 1812-1814). An abstract of his will reads:In the name of Our Lord God Amen, I Francis Boggs do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following: Imssimus I lend unto my beloved wife Betsy the whole of my land and marsh together with all my personal Estate until the first day of January eighteen hundred and thirty four provided she make no charge against my children in bringing them up, giving them common education is what I desire or if she chooses to charge let everything be valued. Item: I give unto my son Joseph Parker Boggs all the land and marsh that my father Francis Boggs gave me excepting a privilege for my son John Crowson Boggs stock in marsh. Item: I give to my son John C. Boggs the fifty acres of land which I bought of N. Burrell and others. Item: On the first day of January eighteen hundred and thirty four to be divided among my wife and children in such sort that my wife Betsy have one ninth and my son Joseph have one fiftieth, my son John have one twentieth and after the above shares then the balance to be equally divided among the rest of my children namely Mary Ann Boggs, Susannah Boggs, Leah Makemie Boggs, Thomas Douglas Boggs, Eliza Evins Boggs, Margaret Williams Boggs, and Sally Boggs. Item: If my son Joseph should die without disposing of his part of land at lawful age in that case I give his part to my son John and his part to Thomas D. Boggs or if John C. Boggs should die before disposing of his part at lawful age then I give his fifty acres unto my son Thomas D. Boggs and in case of Joseph and John's death without lawful issue then it is my desire for Thomas D. Boggs to have the piece first mentioned to Joseph P. Boggs and the fifty acres mentioned to John C. Boggs to be sold and divided among my daughters. Item: I also appoint my friend and brother Thomas Underhill the executor of this my last will and testament the first day of March 1820.
Land between Fisher's glade & the Marsh to be sold. To wife Esther all balance of my lands as land as she lives my widow. To wife Esther all personal estate during he life as my widow but she is to make no charge against my children for bringing the up. To William Francis Taylor after my wife's death or marriage all land lent to her. To Nancy Boggs Taylor, Johnson Taylor, Ruth Parker Taylor, and Joseph Boggs Taylor all my personal property to be equally divided among them. Francis Boggs executor. In her father Francis Boggs' will on 9 September 1811 in Accomack Co., VA, Esther was named as an heir. It was probated 30 May 1813.
Circa 1825 Esther married George Turner.
