VIOLATER WINDOW'S HEIRS

HOUSEHOLD 29

Violetta Addison, daughter of Elijah Addison, was born circa 1750.  Violetta died before on 30 September 1793 (Nottingham).

She married twice.  She first married John Outten circa 1768.  John was born in Somerset Co, MD on 6 August 1745 (Vital Records 1726-1750).   John was the son of Purnell Outten and Mary Houston, and the brother of Elizabeth Outten, Solomon Smith's wife.  John died circa 1771.  She married second Eli Window circa 1772.  Eli was born circa 1745.  On 27 January 1774 the estate of Eli Window was administered to Elijah Addison (Nottingham).  The text reads: "On 27 January 1774 letters of administration were granted to Elijah Addison.  Violetta Window, Widow, refusing to qualify."

In her grandmother Elizabeth Parker Addison's will on 2 May 1763 in Accomack Co., VA, Violetta was named as an heir.  It was probated 31 May 1763 (Nottingham).  An abstract of her will reads: "BRADFORD, ELIZABETH - 2 May 1763 - 31 May 1763 - To Violetta Addison all my estate which is in her father's & mother's custody.  To son Nathaniel Bradford's 3 children 10 £ each.  To his daughter Sarah.  To daughter Naomi.   Clothing to be divided between my 3 daughters Household goods to be divided between daughter Jemima & 2 grandchildren Jemima & Violetta.  To William Bagge 40 £ cash.  Daughters Jemima & Naomi residual legatees.  William Bagge Exr. Daughter Keziah.  Witt: John Thomson, Elizabeth Jones."

In Elijah Addison's will on 27 October 1773 in Accomack Co., VA, Violetta was named as an heir.  It was probated 1 June 1774 (Nottingham).  An abstract of his will reads: "ADDISON, ELIJAH - 27 Oct. 1773 - 1 June 1774 - Son Nathan Addison.  Daughter Jemima Parker Addison, Daughter Bridget Addison, Son John Bradford Addison.  Son Nathaniel Addison.  Grandson John Purnal Outten.  Daughter Catherine Addison.  Daughter Violater Window.  Children Jemima Parker Addison, Nathaniel Addison, Catherine Addison & Grandson John Purnal Outten residual legatees.   Friends Michael Bonnawell, Jr. & John Sharlock Exrs.  Not witnessed - In order of probate: The Exrs. named refused to act & Nathan Addison, son & heir to the testator qualified."

Violetta made a will before 30 September 1793 in Accomack Co., VA.  It was probated on 31 December 1793 (Nottingham).  An abstract of her will reads: "WINDOW, VIOLATER - _ _ - 1793 - 31 Dec. 1793 - To John Addison White, son of Levin & Bridgett, my small piece of land that I call mine, reversion to Elijah Addison White.   Son John Purnell Outten.  Not witnessed.  Proved by Ephraim Watson, William White & Betsy Parker.   In order of probate: The foregoing will contested by John Purnell Outten, heir at law to the testatrix, but by the Court admitted to record."

On 30 September 1793 the estate of Violetta Addison Window was administered to an John Purnell Outten (Nottingham).  The text reads: "On 30 September 1793 letters of administration were granted to John Purnell Outten, Levin Joynes security."

The Procession of 1795, as it original reads: "Eleventh District Decr 29th 1795 - Vioalater Window's heirs & Levin White's heirs.  Lines between Vioalater Window's heirs & Henry Custis.  Lines between Vioalater Window's heirs & William Finney..." (Processioners Returns).

Violetta Addison and John Outten had the following child:

2 i. John Purnell Outten was born in Somerset Co, MD, on 25 December 1769 (Vital Records 1751-1775).  John Purnell Outten was called "Purnell."  He was listed on the personal property Tax List for 1787 (Yantis-Schreiner 98).  The record reads: "2 cows, 4 cattle." John "Purnell" Outten witnessed the Procession (Processioners Returns).  On 15 October 1799 John Purnell Outten was commisssioned Cornet in the militia (Barnes).  The text reads: "... On the same day Charles Bayly Taylor and Robert Walker were commissioned Lieutenant in the 2nd Regiment and John Purnal Outten was Commissioned Cornet..."
