Michael Parker, son of William Parker and Leah Taylor, was born in Accomack Co., VA, circa 1755.  He married Rachel Crockett circa 1778.   Rachel was born circa 1759.  She was the daughter of Joseph Crockett and Sally Tyler.  In Joseph Crockett's will on 18 July 1805 in Accomack Co., VA, Rachel was named as an heir.  It was probated on 28 April 1806 (Accomack County Will Book 6).  An abstract of his will reads:

To son Zachariah Crockett 150 acres excluding where I live, in fee simple.  To grandson, Elisha Crockett "South Point" in fee simple, subject to the life estate of son Zachariah Crockett.  To son Thomas Crockett 200 acres including where he now lives, in fee; to sons Joseph Crockett, Jesse Crockett and John Crockett $100.00 each.  Daughter Tabitha Crockett $60.00, also a right to keep what stock she thinks proper on both my Islands.  Daughters Sally Linton, Leah Hopkins, Rachel Parker and Molly Evans $20.00 each in cash.  Son Zachariah and daughter Tabitha residuary legatees, but should Tabitha marry, then her part of the moveable estate and money shall be divided among all her sisters.  Sons Thomas and Zachariah, execs.  Thomas and Zachariah Crockett and Abel West gave bond.

In William Parker's will on 17 August 1781 in Accomack Co., VA, Michael was named as an heir.  It was probated 30 March 1784 (Nottingham 342).  It was probated 30 March 1784 (342).  An abstract reads: "To daughter Ruth Boggs.  To daughter Frances Read.  To granddaughters Elizabeth and Sarah Nelson.  To Elizabeth Taylor all my right and title of a Negro boy called Israel.  To daughter Mary Boggs.  To son Robert Parker (Watts Island,) hand mill and etc.  To son Michael Parker.  To son John Parker 100 acres where he now lives.  To daughter Sarah Smith.   Son John Parker and William Crowson exrs.  Witt: Barth: Taylor, John Smith, Zorobabel Hornsby."

Michael was listed on the personal property Tax List for 1787 (Yantis-Schreiner 99).  The record reads: "Michael Parker charged with the tax 1 horse, mare or colt, 6 cattle."

 On 17 October 1789 Michael purchased 100 acres of land from his brother John Parker and his wife Ann that John had inherited from their father William. (Accomack Deeds:286).  For a transcription of the deed see JOHN PARKER, WIFE ANN, TO MICHAEL PARKER.

The Procession of 1795, as it originally reads: "Eleventh District Decr 29th 1795 - Lines between Michael Parker & Susanna Phillips.  Lines between Michael Parker & William Crowson.  Lines between Michael Parker & Benjamin Phillips..." (Walczyk, Processioners Returns).  The land he was living on bordered on the land of Susanna Phillips, William Crowson, his uncle, and Benjamin Phillips.  He was also the brother of Sarah Parker Smith of HOUSEHOLD 1.  Michael was a witness.

Michael was listed as the head of a family on the 1800 Census in Accomack Co., VA (Powell 12).  The census reads: "Parker, Michiel 2 male 0-10, 1 male 10-16, 2 males 16-126, 1 male 45+, 1 female 0-10, 1 female 10-16, 1 female 26-45."

Neither Michael nor Rachel was listed in the 1810 Census but he again appears in the 1820 Census (Powell 143).  The census reads: "Parker, Michael, 1 male 10-16, 2 males 16-26, 1 male 45+, 2 females 26-36, 1 female 45+"

Michael was listed as the head of a family on the 1830 Census in Accomack Co., VA (Powell 70). The census reads: "Parker, Michael 1 male 10-15, 1 male 90-100, 1 female 70-80."

Michael Parker was still living in 1839 when Anderson and Goodridge foreclosed on a mortgaged premise subject to the life estate of Joseph's father Michael (Walczyk, Chancery 69).  The text reads: 

Alexander Anderson and Elizabeth P. Goodridge Merchants & partners trading under the firm of Anderson & Goodridge - Plaintiffs -- against --In Chancery -- Joseph C. Parker - Defendant - It appearing to the Court that the process in this cause has been duly served on the defendant Joseph C. Parker more than four month before the same was set for hearing and he failing to appear and answer the same.  On motion of the plaintiff this cause came on this day to be heard on the plaintiffs bill and the exhibits therewith filed and was argued by counsel; Upon consideration whereof the Court doth adjudge order & decree that the plaintiffs recover of the defendant Joseph C. Parker the sum of Five hundred & eighty seven dollars & fifty five cents with interest thereon at the rate of six per centum per annum paid the 17th day of January 1839 till paid and their costs by them in this behalf expended: And the Court doth further adjudge order and decree that unless the said defendant Joseph C. Parker pay to the said plaintiffs the said sum of Two hundred & eighty seven dollars & fifty four cents with the interest thereon as aforesaid and the costs of this suit on or before the 15th day of October Next, that he be forever barred and foreclosed from his equity of redemption in the Mortgaged premises conveyed by the deed of the 10th of October 1838 made an exhibit in the plaintiffs bill marked A, And the Court doth further adjudge order and decree that the Sheriff of this County or either of his deputies be appointed a commissioner to make Sale of the said Mortgaged premises (subject to the life estate of Michael Parker) on the premises, after duly advertizing the time and place of Sale two weeks at Drummond Town, Pungoteague, Onancock & Bell Haven for cash to the highest bidder and out of the proceeds thereof the said sheriff or either of his deputies shall pay to the said plaintiff the sum of Two hundred and eighty seven dollars & fifty four cents and interest thereon as aforesaid, and the cost of this suit .  And make report thereof to the Court for further proceedings to be had herein.

Michael Parker was not listed in the 1840 Accomack County Census.

Michael Parker and Rachel Crockett had the following children:

1 i. Tabitha Parker was born circa 1790.  She married Ezekiel Smith on 7 November 1808 in Accomack Co., VA (Turman 260). The record reads: "Ezekiel Smith to Tabitha Parker of Michael, 7 November 1808. Edmund Phillips Security."  Tabitha died before his second marriage to Rachel.

Ezekiel was born circa 1791.  He married 2nd Rachel, Mrs. Ezekiel Smith before 1826.

2 ii. Sally Parker was born in Accomack Co., VA, circa 1792.  She married William Guy on 24 December 1810 in Accomack Co., VA (Turman  117). The record reads: "William Guy of John to Sally Parker of Michael on 24 December 1810.  Jonathan Guy Security."  William was born circa 1785.

3 iii. William H. Parker was born in Accomack Co., VA, circa 1795.  William died before 30 November 1824 (Miles 414).  The text reads: "William H. Parker of Michael, - Letters of administration were granted to William D. Chandler, Levin Parker &c. William L Watson securities."

His estate was ordered to be inventoried on 30 November 1829, Inventory and 3 December 1824.  Sale 26 March 1825, Audit 31 May 1825.   Michael Parker & Margaret Parker received legacies.  Appraisers: Thomas W. Finney, Elijah Boggs & William W. Rodgers.  William D. Chandler Admr. Auditors: Levin L Joynes & William E. Wise commissioners.  He married Margaret, the widow of William Fletcher on 16 April 1823 in Accomack Co., VA. Margaret, was born in Accomack Co., VA circa 1795.

4 iv. Joseph Crockett Parker was born on 7 May 1800 (Walczyk, Family Record).  He died on 16 November 1843 in York County, VA.  He married Mary Ann Ambrose circa 1825.

5 v. George E. Parker was born in Accomack Co., VA, circa 1802.  He married Nancy Boggs Taylor on 18 January 1825 in Accomack Co., VA (Turman 217).  The marriage record reads: "George E. Parker of Michael to Nancy Taylor of James on 18 January 1825.  Joseph C. Parker and Levin Core securities."  Nancy was born in Accomack Co., VA, circa 1805.  Nancy was the daughter of James Taylor and Esther Boggs.

6 vi. Mary Parker was born in Accomack Co., VA circa 1804.  She married William Drummond on 3 March 1824 in Accomack Co., VA (Turman 89).   William was born circa 1794.  William was the son of Richard Drummond and Catherine Milliner.
