[A60] In 1655 Jenkin Price received a patent for 800 acres on what is known today as Finney's Creek (Whitelaw).
In 1660 Price assigned his patent to John West and in 1666 West assigned it
to Andrew Finney (Whitelaw). The next owner of this land was William Finney, the son of
Andrew and his wife Jane. In 1721 William Finney made an agreement with John
Watts that if Watts' daughter Sarah married William's son William Finney, the
elder Finney would deed this plantation to the couple and their heirs. A deed
for this land was recorded to William Finney Junior sometime after. By 1795 this
tract was in the hands of another William Finney who was the great-great-grandson
of the first Andrew Finney. NOTE: See Whitelaw pp. 825-827.
