Thomas Coleburn, son of John Coleburn and his wife, was born
in Accomack Co., VA circa 1743. He married Sabra Kellam circa 1768 in Accomack Co.,
VA (Whitelaw, p. 783). Sabra was born circa 1750. Sabra was the daughter of Zorobabel
Kellam and Mary his wife (Nottingham Wills, p. 391). She married second Smith
Cutlar on 29 August 1792 in Accomack Co., VA (Turman Marriages, p. 77). The
text reads:Cutler, Smith / Sabra Coleburn; 29 August 1792. In Zorobabel Kellam's
will on 12 February 1791 in Accomack Co., VA, Sabra was named as an heir. It was
probated 28 July 1791(Nottingham Wills, p. 391). An abstract of his will reads:
KELLAM, ZOROBABEL - 12 Feb. 1791 - 28 July 1791 - To wife Mary Negroes
for life. Grandson Zorobabel Kellam. Wife to have use of my plantation during her
widow, reversion to my son Thomas in case he ever returns home, but if he does not
return then to my son John Kellam for life, & then to my grandson Thomas Kellam,
son of the said John, said plantation being 130 acres. To daughter Sabra Coleburn,
wife of Thomas Coleburn, 50 acres adjcent the Southeast part of Thomas Garrison'a
plantation To son John Kellam plantation where he now lives containing 291 acres,
also 60 acres on Cedar Island. To grandson Zorobabel 50 acres which I bought of Edmund
& Thomas Bradford, adjcent his own land in Bradford's Neck. To grandson Ezer Kellam.
Wife Mary & son John, son Thomas (if he returns), & daughter Sabra residual legatees,
reserving to my grandson Zorobabel Kellam 1/2 share. Wife, son John & Thomas Coleburn

Sabra Kellam
Coleburn was the administrator of the estate of Thomas Coleburn dec'd. on 27 September
1791 in Accomack Co., VA (Nottingham Wills, p. 374). Jesse Kellam & John Kellam
& Southy Satchell securities In his father John Coleburn's will on 24 February 1776
in Accomack Co., VA, Thomas was named as an heir and executor. It was probated 26
March 1776 (Nottingham Wills, p. 294, 295). An abstract of his will reads:
COLEBURN, JOHN - 24 Feb. 1776 - 26 Mar. 1776 - To son Thomas Coleburn
part of my land I bought of Stratton Burton, behind the mannor Plantation as far
as the road &c., also 25 acres of land on Sedar Island, also 1/2 my mill I bought
of James Henry, & for want of heirs to my son Isaac Coleburn. To son George Coleburn
land adjcent that given my son Thomas & 25 acres on Sedar Island, & for want of heirs
to my son Samuel Coleburn. To son John Coleburn the remaining part of my land I bought
of Stratton Burton, also 25 acres on Sedar Island, & for want of heirs to my son
Isaac Coleburn. To son Isaac water mill I bought of Henry Heath & Elijah Chance,
& for want of heirs to my son Samuel. I also give my son Isaac 25 acres on Sedar
Island. To son Samuel 25 acres on Sedar Island &c. To daughter Elizabeth Coleburn.
To daughter Ann Coleburn. To wife "Catrin" Coleburn. To son Robert Coleburn negro
& 1/2 the book accounts, clothing & all the money due me for the old sloop between
me & Robert Coleburn; one sloop to be sold to the highest bidder & 1/3 of the money
to my son Robert Coleburn. Thomas, John,George, Isaac, Samuel, Elizabeth & Ann Coleburn
residual legatees. Robert Coleburn, Thomas Coleburn & John Spiars Exrs. Witt: Thomas
Johnson, James Spiars, John Spiars. In order of probate: Robert Coleburn heir at
law to the testator.
Whitelaw states on p. 783:

A Revell Coleburn sold 100 acres which had been left to him by his father (no record).
The buyer was was Zorobabel Kellam whose daughter Sabra had married Thomas Thomas
Coleburn; he left no will, but in 1829 Willaim D. and Susan Groten sold to John B.
Bradford 100 acres "Lately Thomas Coleburn's deceased."
On on 4 January
1796 in Accomack Co., VA, the boundaries of the lands of Thomas Coleburn heirs were
processioned. Smith Cutlar was present (Walczyk Processions, p. 5). The text
in part reads:
Fourth District, Jany 4th 1796 - Lines between Thomas
Coleburn's heirs & William Spiers' heirs. Caleb Upshur's heirs & Benston Bradford's
heirs. Lines between Caleb Upshur's heirs & Isaac Coleburn. Lines between Caleb
Upshur's heirs & Thomas Burton. Lines between Isaac Coleburn & Thomas Burton. Lines
between Isaac Coleburn & Levi Nock. Lines between Isaac Coleburn & George Coleburn.
Lines between Isaac Coleburn & Benjamin Bradford. Lines between George Coleburn &
Benjamin Bradford. Lines between George Coleburn & Arthur Trader's heirs. Lines between
George Coleburn & William Coleburn. Lines between William Spiers' heirs & William
Coleburn. Lines between Peter Turlington's heirs & William Coleburn, Smith Cutlar,
Thos Burton, Severn East, Robt Nock, Geo. Coleburn, Benjn Bradford, Levi Nock, Robt
Harris, Isaac Coleburn, John Phillips, Wm Churn, Handcock Beloate, Edmd Read & the
two processioners.
Thomas was mentioned in a court case 2 August 1800
in Accomack Co., VA (Nottingham Land Causes, p. 49). The text reads:
William Dunton & Mary, his wife.
vs . . . . . . .Partition Suit
Catherine
(Caty) Coleburn
That a certain Thomas Coleburn was lately seized of and in
150 acres of land in the Parish of Accomack, and being so thereof seized on the __
day of __ 1791, departed this life intestate leaving three daughters, Mary, the wife
of the said plaintiff, Cate Coleburn & Ann Coleburn, who entered upon the said lands
and became seized thereof; that shortly after September 179(6?) the said Ann Coleburn
departed this life intestate and without issue, and her undivided 1/3 descended to
Mary, the now wife of the plaintiff, and Cate Coleburn&c.
Thomas Coleburn
and Sabra Kellam had the following children:

in Accomack circa 1775. Her orphan's account for 1792 was recorded by her guardian
Smith Cutlar (Walczyk Orphans 1787-1793, p. 130). The text reads:

was the defendant in court on 2 August 1800 (Nottingham Land Causes, p. 49).

Ann Coleburn was born in Accomack Co., VA circa 1778. Ann died in September 1796
(49). Her orphan's account for 1792 was recorded by her guardian Smith Cutlar (Walczyk
Orphans 1787-1793, p. 130). The text reads:

of T. Colburne to Smith Cutler
Dr 1792 To board & clothing £07.00.0; To

Mary Coleburn was born in Accomack Co., VA on 8 December 1782. (Dunton Bible 1774-1884).
She married William Dunton on 27 December 1798 (Ibid). William was born in Northampton
Co., VA on 24 October 1775 (Ibid). William was the son of Rickards Dunton and Sophia Harmanson (Ibid). William and Mary
were the plaintiffs in a court on 2 August 1800 in Accomack Co., VA (Nottingham Land
Causes, p. 49). Her orphan's account for 1792 was recorded by her guardian Smith
Cutlar (Walczyk Orphans 1787-1793, p. 130). The text reads:

Kellam Dunton was born on 16 April 1804. iv. John Rickards Dunton was born on 21
December 1806. v. Catherine Sabra Dunton was born on 6 May 1809. vi. Samuel Washington
Dunton was born in on 2 June 1811. vii. Sophia Elizabeth Dunton was born on 25 October
1813. viii. Custis Mercier Dunton was born on 18 June 1816. ix. Mary Coleburn Dunton
was born on 10 March 1819. x. James Monroe Dunton was born on 18 January 1823. xi.
Ann Coleburn Dunton was born on 28 October 1828 (Dunton Bible 1774-1884).
