Richard Vaughan - John Waltham [A16]

1648 Richard Vaughan purchased the Indian right to a tract of land fro Debbedeaven, King of Nandua, and the next year he received a patent for the 300 acres which where the western part of this tract. Two years later the patent was reissued for a total of 650 acres.

1649 At the same time that he took out his first patent, Vaughan had one issued for his young stepson John Waltham. for 450 acres which were east of his own. This was reissued to Waltham for 700 acres. With the Vaughan land which his mother Grace (the widow of John Waltham and Richard Vaughan) had given him he had a total of 1,250 acres to make up this tract.
