Custis Willis Extr. All my land & plantation to my son Charles Belote & my son George Belote, but if either dies before they arrive to lawful age then to his brother. to brother sons . . . To Nancy Kellam of Sacker . . . The remainder to my 2 sons & Jacob Edwards' children to have 1/3 part.. All the property I lent to Jacob Edmunds to his children. He appears on the Pay Roll list of Captain Levin S. Joynes Company of the Second Regiment of Virginia Militia, Accomack County commanded by Col. Thomas M. Bayly for the years 1813 and 1814 as serving 1 month and 18 days (Virginia Militia Vol I: 216). He also appears on the Muster Roll of Captain George Scarborough's Company of the Second Regiment Virginia Militia, in the County of Accomack, called into Service under the general orders of the 22nd of May 1813, from the 22nd to the 29th May in the same year as serving 8 days (Virginia Militia Vol II: 694)
He resided in Accomack Co., VA in 1815 (Ward Landowners: 4). Charles Belote lived at White Marsh, Onancock 8 miles southwest of the Court House.

To son Joseph G. Belote all my lands laying above the crossroads that is east of the road leading from Onancock to Wachapreague which includes the 50 acres purchased of John S. Gibb& all notes, bonds & open accounts I hold against him. To son John Belote the land I purchased of Lew is Belote & that land I purchased of Joseph Gunter, being at the mouth of the Warington Lane, thence about a southeast course to the turn of the Big ditch, leading into Burton's Branch & all notes, bonds & open accounts I hold against him & my Negro Man Isaac. To daughter Mary Elizabeth Belote the land I purchased of James Poulson Sr. & the land I purchased of John B. Warrington, which lays between the said Poulson land & the lane, thence by the said lane to the lands of Joseph Gunter. To son William J. Belote the land I purchased of Lewis P. Rodgers & a small piece purchased of Isaac Smith containing in the whole 193 1/2 acres & the bond I hold against him & secured by the deed of trust, principal about $830 & all the other bonds, notes & open accounts hereby cancelled except I hold the property contained in the Deed of Trust, subject to the payment of a bond due to Dr. Hugh G. Seymour & to which I am security. To son Charles Henry Belote the land purchased at the sale of Littleton Savage. To my wife Hester. . . & as dower in my slaves, my Negro girl Sarah & at her death Sarah & her increase to my son Tully P. Belote, but this is not to exclude my wife from her dower in the residue. To son Charles Belote. . .My farm is to be carried on by my family until the whole is gathered in . . .Extr. to have a floor laid in the kitchen on the land I purchased at Littleton Savage's sale & given to son Charles H. & to repair the house on the farm where I now reside. . . NOTE: In the recording of Joseph G. Belote's death he was named as Joseph J. His parents were listed as Joseph G. and Elizabeth. He was the son of Charles Belote and Elizabeth Martin.
His stone reads: Joseph G. Belote husband of Elizabeth, born 29 August 1813, died 13 March 1896. He married Elizabeth Phillips circa 1836. Elizabeth was born in Accomack Co., VA on 10 March 1814 (Mihalyka Graven Stones: 22, Belote Bible). Elizabeth was the daughter of William Phillips and Mary Savage.
Elizabeth died on 3 April 1901 (Mihalyka Graven: 22). Her tombstone reads: Elizabeth Belote, wife of Joseph G. Belote born 10 March 1814 died 3 April 1901.
