In the name of God Amen I Major Rayfield being sick but of Sound Mind make this my last Will & Testament
Item I give and bequeath my young mare to my son William Rayfield to him and his heirs forever.
Item I give and bequeath my young Horse to my son Major Rayfield to him and his heirs forever
Item I give and bequeath the remainder part of my oersonal Estate to be equally divided between my four Children William Elizabeth Major and Mary to them and their heirs forever
Item I give and bequeath to Thomas Bayly Senr the land I bought of William Bull & Dianiah his wife and the land I bought of Levi Annis & Peggy his wife which will appear by their Deed to me provided the said Bayly pays the sum of money that I was to give for said lands which will appear by said Deed to him and his heirs forever. As Witness my hand & Seal this tenth day of October 1798. I appoint my two sons William and Major Rayfield my Executors to this my last will

At a District Court held at Accomack Courthouse October 20th 1798 This said last Will and testament of Major Rayfield decd now offered for proof by the Executors therein named was proved by the Oath of Asia East a Witness thereto and a Codicil thereto annexed was proved by the Oath of Elijah Grinnalds a Witness thereto and ordered to be recorded. On the motion of William Rayfield and Major Rayfield certificate is granted them for obtaining a probate of the said Will they having taken the Oaths of Executors and with Thomas Bayly Senr and Elijah Grinnalds their securities entered into and acknowledged a Bond in the Penalty of one thousand pounds with condition according to law, which is ordered to be recorded
