In
the name of God Amen I Benjamin Darby being sick and weak in body but of Perfect
mind and memory thanks bo to God for it Therefore make this my Last Will and Testament
revoking and Disannuling all other Will or Wills made or in my name
Item,
I lend my Plantation unto my loving wife Polly Darby for the term of Sixteen years
all my personal estate to bring my children up, on till the sixteen years are out
then all my personal estate to be equally divided between my two Daughters Ann Crippen
Darby and Esther Darby, and my loving wife Polly Darby, after my just debts are paid
Item I give and bequeath unto my son Edmund Darby the part of my land where my dwelling
house stands on, runing from my mil branch up a Prong a runing up in my Land to where
a great white Gum, from thence a strait line through my Land unto a corner line Gum
between my & John Fletcher, likewise my Griss mill, to him and his heirs forever.
Item,
I give the remaining part of my Land unto my Son Shadrack Darby to him and his heirs
forever.
Item, I leave my loving wife Polly Darby and Major Colony Senr to
be my whole Executors revoking and disannuling all other Will or Wills mad by me
or in my name Thereunto I set my hand and seal this 12th day of November 1791

At a Court held in Accomack county June 26th
1792 This Will was proved by the oaths of William Mears and Levin Biggaby witnesses
thereto and ordered to be recorded On the motion of Polly Darby taking oath and giving
William Mears and Major Colony her securities who entered into and acknowledged a
bond for that purpose, Certificate is granted her for obtaining a probate in due
form
