I Rubin Giddings of Accomack County Virginia do hereby make my last will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say -
1st I give to my liveing wife my Negro Girl Candis to her & her heirs
2nd I lend to my liveing wife Elizabeth the whole of my Estate both real and personal Dureing her life or widdowhood for her support and to maintain my child or children in my wife should be with child as the case may be -
3rd I give the whole of my Estate both real and personal to my Daughter Nancy Giddings after the Death or marriage of My wife Except my wife should be with Child and in that case I give the whole of my Estate both Real and Personal to be Equally Divided Between my Daughter Nancy and the Child my wife Should be with Child with at the time of my Death. But in case my Daughter N ancy Should Die before she arrive to lawfull age or Marriage or my me wife should not be with child in Either of them cases it is my will & Desire that my loveing wife Elizabeth Should have the whole of my Estate both real and personal if neither of my children should leave an heir in that case it is my will & Desire that my liveing wife have the whole of my Estate both real & personal to her and her heirs and lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my friend John Custis Executor of this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all other former wills by me heretofore made - In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 17th day of March in the year 1800

At a District Court held at Accomack Courthouse the 15th day of May 1800 The said last Will and Testament of Rubin Giddings decd offered for proof by the Executor therein named was proved by the oaths of William Lee and Mary Scott Witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded on the motion of John Custis (BS) certificate is granted him for Obtaining a probate of the said Will he having taken the oath of an Executor and together with Thomas Cropper & William Seymour his Securitys entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of fifteen hundred pounds with condition according which is ordered to be recorded
