Last Will and Testament of Kendall Ames - 27 June 1839 - Transcribed by Gail M. Walczyk
I
Kendall Ames of the County of Accomack and State of Virginia do make
this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following
I
give to Arthur Bogg's Children Viz Nancy Northam, Margaret Parker,
William Boggs, Henry Boggs, Betsy Mason, Jane Moore and Lucy Moore each
five dollars cash.
I give to James Boggs my half brother twenty dollars Cash.
I give to Rachel Rodgers my half sister twenty dollars Cash.
I
give my negro man Isaac to My half brother Elijah Boggs and to my
nephew John T. Ames during theri joint lives and at the death of either
I then give him the said Isaac to the survivor and his heirs --- The
balance of my property after the payment of my just debts and funeral
charges I give to my half brother Elijah Boggs and nephew John T. Ames
to be equally divided between them.
And
lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my said brother Elijah Boggs
executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revolking all others
by me heretofor made.
In
Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and seal this day of June
27th in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and thirty nine.

At a Court held for Accomack County on the 31th day of August 1840 --- This
las Will and Testament of Kendall Ames decd was proved by the oaths of
Joseph P. Boggs and Thomas D. Boggs witnesses thereto and ordered to be
