In the name of God Amen, I George Freshwater Sen'r of the County of Northampton in Virginia being very sick and weak of body but of perfect and sound memory do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following,
First - I bequeath my body to its original mother the Earth desireing a decent and Christian burial at the discretion of my executors hereafter named.
Secondly - My soul to Almighty God that gave it me, not doubtinmg of his mercy through the merits of my blessed Saviour Jesus Christ and as for my worldly estate I will as followeth,
Imprimus - I give, will, devise and bequeath unto my loving son George Freshwater two hundred acres of land where he now liveth to him and his heirs forever being the half of my four hundred acres of land.
Item - I give, devise and bequeath unto my loving son William Freshwater one hundred and fifty acres of land being part of my four hundred acres aforesaid to him and his heirs forever.
Item - I give, will, devise and bequeath unto my two daughters Alisha and Elizabeth Freshwater my dwelling house, out house, orchard and fifty acres of land most convenient to the said dwelling house being in all four hundred acres of land my two daughters to possess the said fifty acres of land, houses and orchard aforesaid without any molestation or disturbance by any person or persons whatsoever untill the days of their marriage and then the said houses, orchard and the fifty acres of land aforesaid to fall to my son William Freshwater and his heirs forever.
Item - My will and desire is that my sons and daughters have like priviledge of all marshes and liberty for their cattle to me belonging and that neither of them hinders each other from any range or liberty for theirs by fencing or any other hinderance whatsoever but that they jointly and severally enjoy it in love and quietness as brothers and sisters ought to do.
Item - I give and bequeath one horse called, "Speetfire" and a mare called, "Buck" with their labor and the mares increase between my two daughters Alisha and Elizabeth aforesaid.
Item - I give and bequeath a yearling mare colt with all her increase male and female to my daughter Elizabeth aforesaid.
Item - I will and bequeath one cow called, "Betty" to my daughter Elizabeth aforesaid with all her future increase male and female.
Item - I give one cow called, "Fill Payle" to my grandson Wm. Freshwater.
Item - I give one two year old steer to my grandson Gethinge Hawkin.
Item - I give one yearling bull between my two daughters aforesaid as also two ewes and two lambs equally between them with all their increase.
Item - I give my boat, sails and other rigging belonging to her to my two sons.
Item - I give and bequeath my horse mill with all appurtences there unto belonging between my two sons and two daughters aforesaid equally for their uses.
Item - I will, devise and bequeath unto my two daughters Alisha and Elizabeth aforesaid all my moveables within doors or any ways belonging to me not before mentioned of what nature or sort whatsoever equally to be divided between them when either or both of them shall marry, and if it shall please God that either of them decease before day of marriage then the other to have her share.
Item - My desire is that what debts I justly owe with funeral and other petty charges more then what can be got that is justly oweing me be paid out of my two daughters estates Alishas and Elizabeths aforesaid. I do nominate and appoint my trusty and well beloved sons Wm. Freshwater and John Hawkins jointly and severally my sole exec'rs of this my last will and testament, and hereby I do renounce all other wills and bequeathes whatsoever and do declare this to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof and other premisses I have here unto set my hand and affixed my seal this ninteenth day of March and in the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred eighty and seven.

The 28th day of May 1688, Then the within and above last will and testament of George Freshwater Sen'r deceased was proved in open court by the corporal oaths of Michael Underhill and Thomas Eyre and approved of and ordered to be recorded.
