In the name of God Amen, I George Parker of Northampton County in Virginia being very sick and weak in body but of good and perfect mind and memory praised be to Almighty God for the same but calling to mind the uncertanity [Page 489] of this life, and that all flesh must yield unto death when ever it shall please the Lord to call. In the first place I comend my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it me, and to my Saviour Christ who redeemed me trusting that through his merits to enjoy life everlasting, and my body I commit to the earth from whence it came to be decently buried by my executrix here after named.
Imprimus - As to the divising of my land being one hundred acres my will and pleasure is and I do hereby give the same to my two sons Thomas and George Parker to them and their heirs for ever to be equally divided betwixt them, my wife enjoying her thirds during her life.
Item - I do give and bequeath to each of my said sons one gun, my son Thomas is to have my long gun and my other son my musquet. as also I bequeath to my said two sons each one chest the chest called, "Mine" to be for my son Thomas.
Item - I do also give and bequeath to my two sons aforesaid each one heifer of two years old apiece with all their future increase male and female to them and their heirs forever.
Item - I do also give to my two sons each one feather bed and bolster, as also my son Thomas I do give my gray mare called by the name of, "Betty", only the first mare colt she brings to be for my son George.
Item - My will and pleasure is that my mill shall not be removed of from the plantation whereon she now is but there to remain for the good of my wife and two sons.
Item - It is my will and pleasure and I do hereby appoint that my tender and loving wife Susanna Parker shall be my whole and sole executrix to whom of right belongs all the rest of my estate both within doors and without not doubting but she will fullfill this my last will and testament for which this is to be taken and none other for confirmation of the same I have here unto set my hand and affixed my seal this 16th day of April anno 1698.
Note - Before signing hereof that I do give to my God son Thomas Tyler one cow calf the first that comes after my decease and being omitted in the former part of my will I do give and bequeath to each of my two sons one iron pot.
